What We Do

Our Services

A quick look at the deck work we take on most.

Deck Installation

New decks framed and built to handle Phoenix sun and monsoon storms.

Deck Repair

Soft boards, wobbly rails and cracked footings fixed before they get worse.

Deck Staining & Sealing

Stain and sealant that stand up to UV instead of graying out in one summer.

Custom Deck Design

Layouts built around shade, sun angle and how your family actually uses the yard.

Composite Decking

Composite boards that stay cooler underfoot and don't warp in the heat.

Deck Railing Installation

Railings built to code height and spacing, wood, metal or cable, your call.

Who We Are

Who's Building Your Deck

We build and repair decks for homeowners across the Phoenix area, working on everything from a first-time deck off a kitchen slider to a rebuild of a deck someone else built wrong. If your deck already exists, you probably called us because a board is soft underfoot, the railing wobbles when you lean on it, or the stain job from three summers ago has gone gray and split. That's the problem we see most in this climate: UV breaks down wood and finish faster here than almost anywhere else in the country.

We flash the ledger board where it meets the house so water can't get behind it and rot the framing you can't see. We space decking boards for the wood or composite we're using, not a fixed number, because gaps that are right in April close up tight by August. Fasteners are stainless or coated for the swing in ground moisture during monsoon season, and footings go down deep because caliche soil out here doesn't forgive a shallow one. We'll tell you upfront if a repair is a patch job or if the framing underneath has to come out.

Our old stain had gone gray and blotchy after two summers in Ahwatukee. They stripped it down to bare wood and the grain actually shows again now.

Deck Staining & Sealing · Mesa, AZ
Found rot under a board I thought was just cosmetic, out by Gilbert. Glad they checked the joist instead of just swapping the board.

Deck Repair · Chandler, AZ
Had to push our start date back two weeks for monsoon season, mildly annoying but they called ahead instead of no-showing. Deck's held up fine in Scottsdale heat since.

Common Questions

Questions we get a lot

Questions people ask before they call a deck builder.

How much does a new deck cost in Phoenix?
A pressure-treated pine deck typically runs less per square foot than composite decking, and cost depends on size, framing height, railing style and whether stairs or a shade structure are included. Most Phoenix-area decks land between a few thousand dollars for a small platform deck and well over $20,000 for a large multi-level composite deck with built-in railing.
Are deck builders licensed and insured in Arizona?
A licensed deck builder in Arizona carries a residential contractor's license through the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, along with general liability insurance. Ask any deck builder for their license number and proof of insurance before signing a contract.
How soon can a deck project get started?
Start dates depend on current workload and whether the design needs a permit, which typically adds one to three weeks for plan review in most Phoenix-area cities. Straightforward repairs can often be scheduled faster than a full new deck build.
What areas around Phoenix do deck builders typically cover?
Deck builders serving Phoenix typically also cover nearby cities such as Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Tempe, Glendale, Peoria and Surprise. Confirm coverage of a specific address directly with the builder before scheduling a quote.
Can a deck be built on a mobile home or a smaller property?
Deck construction works on nearly any property type, including manufactured homes, as long as the ground can support the footings and the attachment point on the house is solid. Smaller lots often mean a more compact deck design rather than a different construction approach.
Will a small repair job get scheduled, or only full builds?
Reputable deck contractors take on small repairs, such as replacing a handful of rotted boards or tightening a loose railing, in addition to full deck construction. A small job is often scheduled in the gaps between larger builds.
How do you get started with a deck project?
The usual first step is a site visit to measure the space, check the attachment point on the house, and talk through material and design options. From there a written quote follows, usually within a few days of the visit.
What actually changes the price of a deck?
Framing height off the ground, footing depth and count, decking material (pressure-treated pine versus cedar versus composite), railing style and any add-ons like built-in seating or a shade structure all move the number. Difficult site access, like a backyard with no gate wide enough for equipment, can also add labor cost.
Is a deposit required before work starts?
Most deck contractors require a deposit at signing to cover material orders, with the balance due at set milestones or on completion. A written contract should spell out exactly what percentage is due and when.
What happens if it rains or a monsoon storm hits during construction?
Framing and footing work generally pauses during active rain since wet concrete and slick lumber aren't safe to work with, and the schedule shifts by a day or two. Staining and sealing work gets rescheduled entirely, since finish won't cure properly if it gets wet within the first 24 hours.
